At Redland Valley BIC in Lewisberry PA
Sat 4/19 Starting at Noon
UPDATED 4/02/08
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages. Here's a bit of very cool news. One of our 4 judges has just made things quite a bit more interesting to say the least. He contacted me about a week ago offering his services as a judge. That was fine and dandy enough, and a timely answer to prayer. But, as it turns out, he's offering more than that. I'll confirm the offer then post here. Or you might have to wait till till April 19th. But, it goes something like this: (this is an exerpt from an email I recieved from him), " If I am offered the opportunity to judge the battle of the bands, I would also be willing to offer an artist development deal to the winning band. I hope to hear back from you in the near future, and would love the opportunity to help with your event!"
How cool is that?!
I know not all the bands are in a position to take advantage of his offer. But if you are, I suggest you rock the place HARD on April 19th!
Here's some further information about Justin Robbins:

T SHIRT ORDERS NEED BY APRIL 7th!!!!
If you are interested in a T-shirt, I need you to email me with your order. I need to know Male or Female (female are fitted-T's) and Size. They will be black with white text. There will be a CBOTB 2008 logo on the front and the names of all the bands on the back. There may be some extras for sale at the event. But to be sure you get yours, email me with your order.
This is the Shirt artwork. Front:
Back:
Shirts will be @ $10. You can pay for them at the event.
BANDS, Important!!!
There will be a digital projector shooting on a screen up behind your band. If you want anything on that screen while you are playing, I need you to mail me a CD, I need it no later than April 16th so the multi media guy can get it in his computer and organized. If you can not provide a CD, we will just use text with your band name on your "backdrop". A slide show of images that would fit with your music along with your band logo would be great. Remember, points are awarded for leading one song as a worship song complete with words on your backdrop. If nothing else, email me the words to your worship song and I'll forward them to the media guy. He will still be able to put them up on the screen.
Don't forget to review the rules below.
Practice hard, play well, be ready.

The 2008 Battle of the Christian bands is coming. Everything is free! Food, entry to see the bands, and there will be door prizes givin away. Last year we gave away about $500 in cool stuff from Servants Heart and Carlisle Sports Emprorium
Doors open to the public at @ 12:pm. 1st band to go on at @ 1:pm
Rules: All songs must l be considered "Christian" of course, after all it is a battle of the "Christian Bands".
1. Entry must be 3 songs. 1 song must be original, 1 must be of the corporate worship nature. Meaning, they are not only directed toward God, but that they would fit in a worship service setting. Bonus points if you lead it as a worship song from the stage and have a disc with the lyrics to shoot on the wall behind you. And one must be a cover song. The original can be the worship song, and so can the cover. I know, it's a bit confusing. :)
2. Last year, I provided all the backline, amps drums etc. to make the transitions between bands go easier and faster. This time around, I am considering leaving amps on stage for you to use, but also make it possible to set yours up, if you're efficient. Time is always a problem with these sort of events. Unbelievably, last year, I think we only ran about 12 mins late at the end of the competition portion. I will have a drum kit set up and mic'd for the day.
3. Play well, minister well.
*If you like, bring a CD or DVD with what ever you want digitally projected behind you on an about 10x12 backdrop. Band logo, images, words to your songs etc. We have the computer and the projector.
*If you need someone to put together a cd/dvd for your "digital backdrop", you can contact this fellow here. He is a freelance multimedia guy and can work something out with you. Fee varied on complexity.

*We will be ordereing shirts again this year with "Christian battle of the bands 2008" and a cool logo on the front, and the band names on the back. Shirt ordering details will come as we get closer.
*If your band has merch to sell, we will have a place for tables for that. You'll have to let me know in advance though to make room for you.
***ENTRANTS please READ THIS updated 3/4/08***
Check the "Who's Entered" page for your band. Make sure I didn't miss you and that your info is correct.
xxxxxThe schedule is now updated. It reflects the 3 new entries I am squeezing in. It added 1 hour to the day. Not bad. I was going to have 2 solo artist perform between bands. But the new schedule does not allow that kind of time. So it's just one, and it will be 4 times. The rest of the intervals will be SHORT. There will be 5 minutes between bands time slots. If your band doesn't need the whole 15 minutes allotted to you, you will have more time for set up. But again, at the end of your time slot, your faders come down and we move on. Time is precious. Be in tune, be ready to go. There is room back stage to set your gear, if you are using your own amp, you can easily set it up on the stage from the rear as soon as the previous guy pulls his out of the way. Set your amp, plug in your guitar and go. The drummers will probably be the big time sponges of the day. I know drummers like to adjust everything. Just please be efficient. The completion has a 6pm immovable cut off time.
I look forward to meeting and hearing you all!!
The intent of this event is 2 fold:
1. As an outreach. Used as a tool to reach those that God would call to his family.
2. To give young, and perhaps not-so-young aspiring Christian musicians a venue to not only showcase thier talent and ministry skills, but also to meet and network with
other musicians and well, to be on a stage throwin down thier chops.
And it is last years 1st place winner that rocked us all so well. Welcome back brothers.
"What started as an acoustic coffeehouse band has evolved into one of the most rocking bands in central PA. The Burning State is a 3 piece band featuring tight low end bass, high octane vocals, searing guitar riffs, thunderous drums and powerful lyrics. Playing mostly originals with a few choice covers, The Burning State has been winning audiences over since August 2006. With a full length album almost completed and new merch being designed, 2008 is promising to be an incredible year for the band. Come out and be a part of history and say you know us back when..."

It went down, and it was good.
